Job Overview:
Under the general direction of the Director of Nursing and the Wound/Ostomy Care Advance Practice Nurse , the Wound/Ostomy Care (WOC) RN will use their knowledge, skill, training, and expertise to conduct consultations, provide comprehensive wound and ostomy assessments, coordinate treatments and plan of care including goals, implementation of treatment, evaluation, and outcomes for patients throughout the health system. Provies patient, family and staff education regarding wound managment, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies, new ostomy managment and discharge planning. Acts as the resource person for physicians and clinical staff for wound and ostomy management. Additionally is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Participates in quality improvement and related activities for the health system.
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum, two (2) years' expereience in acute inpatient nursing required.
Current and valid state licensure as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey. BLS/ACLS certification by the American Heart Association.
Certification as a Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) or Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) within 1 year of hire.
