Our partner specializes across a wide range of food products within retail, meal kits, and fast food, providing a variety of accessible products to the community. They are known for their unique flavors & formulations, and pride themselves in keeping a consistent track record of customers. Our partner is looking for a self-starter QA Manager with strong leadership, to oversee & continuously improve processes in food quality!

Salary: $75,000-$95,000 depending on experience 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all QA activity, ensure employees are properly trained and manage performance and development on HACCP, SSOP and GMP protocols

• Manage, develop, and communicate quality systems per SQF regulations, following customer guidelines.

• Complete validation as the SQF practitioner following SQF Code Edition 8.0 per regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with QA Director through any improvement processes & manage CAPAs.
• Conduct and lead company through quality audits from third parties, ensure customer requirements are met and maintain certifications.

• Lead projects on food safety improvements and product quality and facilitates evaluations of products

• Develops and maintains specification for raw materials, manufacturing processes, finished products.

• Communicate food safety and quality issues to management.

• Manage HACCP pre-shipment releases and product releases under pH control.

• Certify new vendors and recertify existing vendors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a food-related discipline, such as Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or Chemistry preferred

• At least 3 years QA management experience with progressive role in a USDA regulated plant.

• Proficient in conducting training and ensuring adherence to sanitary guidelines.

• Strong communications skills, in collaborating with 3rd parties such as internal stakeholders, USDA inspectors and CDPH investigators.

• Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, including team development and coaching.

• Possesses knowledge and comprehension of regulatory requirements, including FDA & OSHA.

• Experience reporting CAPAs and executing improvement processes for efficiency.

• Proficient in executing HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs

• Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred.
