Finance Data Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in data structure, finance data management, data integration, and data integrity in SAP S/4, MDG (Master Data Governance), or other similar systems.
  • Experience with Finance Master Data Management and SAP ERP.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and financial systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience, with 5 years of experience navigating through finance data elements, processes, and technologies (e.g., data structure, finance data management, data integration and data integrity in SAP S/4, MDG (Master Data Governance) or other similar systems).
  • Experience with operations in a multi-currency environment.
  • Knowledge of finance master data elements and maintenance models.
  • Ability to lead in a cross-functional environment, resolve conflicts, drive decisions, prioritize and manage ambiguity.
  • Ability to influence across organizational levels.

Finance Master Data Analysts ensure that Google has all the accurate data to support required reporting needs for sound financial decisions. Data Managers ensure that Google has all the accurate data to support required reporting needs for sound financial decisions. As a Finance Data Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a finance data function through the development and management of a comprehensive data governance structure. You will drive data management projects, providing guidance and developing best practice policies for the design. You will be involved in the day to day development and maintenance of an integrated data solution to store data, strengthen data integrity and resolve data inconsistencies, ensuring clear accountability and ownership for the company’s data elements. You will liaison with cross-functional teams to ensure that master data requirements are clearly understood, defined and integrated.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and govern an enterprise wide data governance framework and roadmap to support all current and future business processes, with a focus on ensuring data quality across all systems by establishing the necessary processes and controls around the flow of data from creation to reporting and support that framework.
  • Initiate and manage global and local finance data elements projects.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain finance data element logic. Support the user community with Finance Data Elements activities.
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to master data governance, establishing clear accountability for all data elements.
  • Oversee daily activities of the master data management process, such as creation and maintenance of all master and reference data across all regions and systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
