Job Description

“If we can get one child adopted into a loving family, all our work will be worth it.”

– Dave Thomas

Join us as we champion our mission to dramatically increase the number of adoptions of children waiting in North America’s foster care systems. We’ve helped to find safe, permanent homes for more than 14,000 young people across the United States and Canada, but our mission is not complete. Invest your career in making a difference and join the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s team.

We offer a supportive workplace where you can make an impact. We are dedicated to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable work environment for Foundation staff, while advocating for measurable change toward racial equity within the child welfare system.

We are looking for excellent talent to support our mission through our signature Wendy’s Wonderful Kids® (WWK) program. As an Adoption Program Manager based in Dublin, Ohio you will provide critical guidance and technical assistance with programmatic questions to WWK Recruiters, helping them implement an evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model. This role is perfect for someone with a deep understanding of foster care adoption, strong communication skills and a high commitment to excellence. If you’re proficient in data tracking systems, have experience with evidence-based programs and are ready to drive impactful change, we encourage you to apply.

Key Deliverables:

Monitor WWK grantee/partner agency performance, including monthly online data submissions, bi-annual narrative and fiscal reports, and compliance with agency goals

Guide the dissemination of the child-focused recruitment model through support, evaluation, presentations and training

Evaluate proposals for adherence to programmatic and fiscal guidelines

Routinely review data submissions for accuracy and evaluation of fidelity to the child-focused recruitment model

Perform site visits as necessary and engage in regular contact with assigned WWK recruiters

Assist with annual WWK Summit, orientation of new recruiters and ongoing educational and technical assistance efforts

What You Bring:

Undergraduate degree in social work, public administration or a related field required

2-4 years of experience in child welfare, preferably foster care adoption

Experience with evidence-based programs and data-driven approaches to solving child welfare issues

Strong knowledge and experience in foster care adoption and child welfare systems

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to work in a dynamic team; personal qualities of integrity, credibility, openness and commitment to the mission

Experience with grant-making and/or management

Our Benefits

At the Foundation, our team is committed to providing unwavering dedication to change the journey for children lingering in foster care. We value each member of our team and we are committed to taking care of you. Flexible, hybrid schedule arrangement for most positions allowing employees to choose to work from home up to two days a week

First day of hire medical, dental and vision insurance coverage for you and your family

Adoption-Friendly Workplace providing financial benefits and paid time off for adoptive parents

Generous paid time off, including paid holidays, paid personal, vacation and sick days as well as parental leave, adoption leave and foster care leave

A connected team environment that embraces a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
