The Worldwide Developer Relations team is looking for a highly motivated leader with a consistent track record of leading exceptional engineering teams and supporting shared code.
The position of Developer Technical Support (DTS) Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers helping our developers create outstanding software for all of our platforms. The position requires a persistent compassion for developers and collaboration with cross functional organizations, to resolve issues and bring continuous improvements to the developer experience.
Description
As a DTS leader, you will guide a team of highly skilled and experienced engineers who are the primary technical contact for Apple's worldwide community of software and hardware developers. The developers we work with have a range of experience (never programmed to 30+years experience). We answer their wide range of code-level questions, build sample code and other technical documents, support developer labs, and work closely with teams across Apple to continuously improve the Apple developer experience.
If you've ever learned from sample code, opened a Code-level Support request, attended WWDC labs, read a Technote, or participated in Tech Talks, you've seen the teams work!
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years experience leading and developing a team.
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with teams developing native apps for all our platforms (iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS). You must be familiar with Apple developer platforms, frameworks, workflows, and expectations.
- Experience with Swift, Objective-C, and SwiftUI.

- Strong experience in support, operations, process improvement, relationship management, and data analysis.
- Proven track record leading and developing teams focused on writing reusable code and exceptional apps.
- Strong experience responding to critical developer-facing and executive-level escalations.
- Strong computer science/computer engineering fundamentals: Things change rapidly, and fundamentals are key to adapting and learning quickly.
- Compassion for developers and their software development and learning process.
- Ability to continually prioritize and multi-task in a wide-ranging, creative, high productivity environment.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills: You will be writing, presenting to, and speaking with developers and engineering colleagues regularly.
- Curiosity, a passion for excellence, the ability to ask the right questions, and the love of working as part of a team!
