Job Description

The Associate Director, CS International (business development) is responsible for identifying, evaluating, analyzing, and recommending new business development opportunities as well as regional operational plans for Cedars-Sinai International. This role will be responsible for successfully promoting the use of Cedars-Sinai services, programs and technologies to international referring entities as well as identifying potential affiliations, collaborations and joint ventures in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The Associate Director leads and participates in business development activities, provides strong customer service and is effective in communicating the value of Cedars-Sinai resulting in increased specialty care referrals to Cedars-Sinai. This role works cross-functionally to ensure the quality and consistency of business and operational plans for Cedars-Sinai International and the execution of those plans. The incumbent will be the primary liaison between Cedars-Sinai and national and international medical centers, referral agencies, physicians, governmental ministries, public/private insurance companies, and medical communities within assigned the assigned region. Reporting to the Director of Global Business Development, this role is responsible for driving business development internationally to support the growth of the clinical and specialty care programs at Cedars-Sinai. Primary duties include:

  • Supervises regional business development consultants and or analysts on a project specific basis in the development and completion of business plans including market analysis, strategy development and financial analysis in the assigned region. Collaboratively develops and completes business plans on a project specific basis. Leads and/or facilitates groups or teams within Cedars-Sinai in the development of business, operating and strategic plans.
  • With a focus on patient services growth, contributes to strategy development by monitoring, evaluating and providing market assessment, market trends, competitor assessment, government policy, third-party reimbursement and innovative technology that impacts business development activities.
  • Provides and oversees overall project management including facilitation of multi-disciplinary work teams. Evaluates operational needs for new programs, services and technology, including staffing requirements and capital needs. Develops detailed financial analysis, including income statements, cash flow analysis and balance sheets for new and/or existing programs, services, and healthcare technology. Identifies and retrieves data and converts into information required to make decisions on new business development opportunities.
  • Promotes Cedars-Sinai business development strategies in concert with the overall strategic plan goal to develop public and private relationships.
  • Collaborates in the development and execution of a strategic plan in collaboration with the Cedars-Sinai International team leading to increased patient referral.
  • Promotes Cedars-Sinai Health Services to medical community and referral entities via Internet and e-mail. Travels to Europe, Middle East and Africa as needed to meet with high level personnel representing governmental institutions, referral agencies, and business entities to facilitate a steady, sustainable, outreach of patients to Cedars-Sinai.
  • Disseminates information regarding Cedars-Sinai programs, discoveries, and faculty to the assigned geographic medical community and local communities in Los Angeles of the targeted group.
  • Creates public awareness of Cedars-Sinai Centers of Excellence to key constituents in assigned international region.
  • Collaborates with CS Marketing staff in EMEA in increasing brand awareness of Cedars-Sinai and its Centers of Excellence.
  • Supervises and promotes exchange programs between CS and organizations in the assigned region for doctors, nurses and administrative personnel with the goal to increase brand awareness of Cedars-Sinai and marketing. Collaborates with consultants and PR/marketing firms in the assigned region to develop plans to enhance patient outreach.
  • Coordinates Cedars-Sinai medical care for key individuals from the assigned region and interprets medical consultations and treatment plans for the patient, as well as assist in planning and coordinating follow-up visits.
  • Acts as the liaison between CS, business development partners and/or patient referring entities.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in with an emphasis in healthcare is required. Master's degree (MBA, MPH, MHA) with an emphasis in healthcare or marketing is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Global Business Development within the geographic areas assigned (inside or outside the US) required.
  • Experience in developing presentations and speaking the languages associated with the assigned region preferred.
