What to expect:

The Material Handler perform activities related to the timely and efficient movement of materials (receipt, handling, storage, shipment) in a fast-paced production environment.  Maintain a clean and safe work environment, consistently meet productivity metrics, and adhere to all company and departmental policies.   

Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.  Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.

Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

What we expect:

  • Perform physical activities corresponding to the unloading, storage, picking, labeling, packaging, and shipping of materials.
  • Perform repetitive assembly of the company's products into complete packages including, but not limited to, software, medical or pharmaceutical products, PC boards, accessories, manuals, operating instructions, and data sheets. May perform other packaging tasks including placing labels on packages, operating small production equipment, putting manuals into binders, counting and sorting various items, and forming or breaking down boxes for final product. When applicable, maintains related records to comply with government standards.
  • Perform computer transactions/scans to receive, put away, transfer, kit, ship or return materials ensuring conformance to company standards.
  • Count and record departmental Cycle Count results in accordance with the site Cycle Count process to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Operate the material handling equipment (MHE) required to perform activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Provide consistent service in support of production operations as well as customer requirements. 

Skills:

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow all written procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Fully trained in more than one functional department core responsibility
  • Complete training Certification as required and demonstrate safe operation of Departmental MHE
  • Achieve Fully Competent production of metrics (volume, accuracy, timeliness) in line with departmental goals.
  • Understanding of warehouse, manufacturing, and/or distribution process

Education & Experience:

  • High School or General Education Degree (GED), May have an Associate Degree        
  • 1 - 2 years of experience
  • Experience in ERP systems and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with Oracle is beneficial.
  • Some experience with Agile Product Lifecycle Management system is beneficial.

The annualized base salary range for this hourly role is $32,900 - $55,700 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
