The Edison Foundation’s is seeking a summer intern (June 3 - August 10) to support research and programming underway at the Institute for Electric Innovation (IEI) and Institute for the Energy Transition (IET). IEI focuses on advancing the adoption of new technologies that improve the customer experience by enhancing how electric companies engage with customers to strengthen and transform the energy grid. IET assesses the key 24/7 zero-emitting technologies necessary to achieving carbon emissions reduction goals reliably and affordably. The Edison Foundation’s members are the investor-owned electric utilities that represent about 70 percent of the US electric power industry. The membership is committed to an affordable, reliable, secure, and clean energy future.
Our office is located in the heart of Penn Quarter, on Pennsylvania Avenue between the U.S. Capitol Building and the White House.
This is a paid 35-hour per week internship.
This is a great opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student working towards a degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Studies, or related field.
The intern will assist with the following items:
The ideal candidate will possess strong research and quantitative analysis skills and a basic understanding of the electric power sector. Experience with energy assistance, energy efficiency programs, clean tech, and electric utility regulation preferred.

This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area for the duration of the internship and come into the office a minimum of three days each week.
