Sr. Software Engineer, Frontend-Design System
Description
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop React components that serve as the building blocks of Splunk web applications.
- Ship code every month to Splunk product teams and external developers on npm
- Improve release automation, CI/CD, and test tooling
- Work with Product Management to collect requirements from customer teams, define tasks, and plan deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with UX Design to build components that provide great user experience and inclusive design practices.
- Collaborate with other engineers through transparent discussions on operations and technical approaches, code reviews, and mentorship of junior team members.
What You’ll Need
- 8+ years of experience in frontend development using Javascript (or Typescript) HTML, and CSS with a Bachelor's Degree or 6 years and a Master's Degree
- 1+ years of experience working on design systems or component libraries
- Demonstrable foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design principles
- Familiarity with frontend testing including visual regression and e2e testing ( ideally with frameworks like Jest and Cypress and Puppeteer)
- Familiarity with inclusive design, accessibility best practices, and WCAG standards
- Familiarity with agile development
- Experience with Splunk software is desirable, but not required

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $174,800.00 - 240,350.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $157,320.00 - 216,315.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $139,840.00 - 192,280.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
