The Standard tab allows you to perform a quick job search using any combination of the available search criteria displayed on the screen.
You can perform a basic search by simply entering keyword and location. Keywords can include things like job titles, the employer name, occupation titles, and military occupation codes. Click the Search button to the right.
There are additional search criteria options that are displayed below. Use as many of these as desired if you would like to include, for example, desired salary, education level, and more.
Occupation Group - Select an occupation group from the drop-down list. The Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) program has defined major occupational groups that encompass over 800 different careers using the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system.
If you would like to choose an occupation title that is more detailed than one of the group selections, click the Select Specific Occupation link. Veterans can select "Click here if you are a veteran..." to select an occupation by military specialty.
Minimum Acceptable Salary - Choose the lowest pay rate that you are willing to accept.
Education Level - From the dropdown list, choose the level of education sought by job postings specifying an educational requirement.
Sources - This field refers to where the job order was posted online. The available sources to search within may include:
Preferred Employer (jobs listed by employers using this system)
Corporate (public or private businesses)
Education Institution (colleges and school systems)

Jobs Posted Within - This field allows you to search for job postings based upon when they were added to this system. If a job posting from a non-system source does not have a specific date associated with it, the date used for searching purposes is the date when it was first imported into the system. Click the "Posted" Link to toggle to "Jobs Updated Within" to search by time frame for job postings updated within a defined time period (preferred employers only).
Click the Advanced link to go to the Advanced search tab.
The Reset Criteria link will clear your selections for you to begin a new search.
