Our location in Eastern Iowa & Quad Cities, currently has an opportunity for a Pediatric Sales Specialist.  This position is responsible for the promotion, management and growth of Abbott Pediatric Nutritional products in hospitals and office settings. 

Responsibilities

  • Developing and supporting territory sales goals in each hospital and office service area for Similac, PediaSure and Pedialyte.

  • Hospital negotiations and contracting.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all products, clinical studies, protocols and guidelines as well as the ability to deliver the information in a selling environment.

  • New product launches.

  • An understanding of the hierarchy of hospital departments such as NICU, Pediatrics, Pharmacies, Purchasing, PICU, Nurseries and Nursing units. The ability to work effectively with Dietitians, Physicians and Nurses.

  • Effective administrative skills.

  • Budget management.

  • Ability to function independently with a high degree of initiative, independence, and autonomy.

  • Desire to be self- motivated, seeking out success at achieving both short and long term goals.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Strong Business acumen demonstrated through solid understanding of the healthcare landscape.

  • Selling experience across a wide range of Health Care Practitioners in Hospital and Office environment.

  • Clinical/Healthcare experience (RD/RN) strongly encouraged to apply

Territory

  • The ideal candidate would live in the Quad Cities, Cedar Rapids, or Iowa City.
  • The territory covers the Eastern half of Iowa and the Quad Cities area within Iowa and Illinois
  • 1-2 overnight travel within territory possible
  • 5-10% overnight travel for Regional and National meetings and trainings
  • Customer base: Pediatric, OB, and Family offices - plus 30 hospital accounts
  • Local candidates only - no relocation support

The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
