The Commercial Underwriting Analyst position is responsible for processes associated with underwriting commercial credit customers and regular reporting around the commercial credit portfolio to ensure management has information needed to make informed business decisions. Clear, concise, and timely processing of credit requests is critical to success in this role. The ability to aggregate and present data on portfolio performance is important to refine underwriting strategies and ensure targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- 60% Commercial Underwriting Execution – Works to perform timely processing of all commercial credit underwriting requests and associated communication with outside and internal business partners
- 20% Gather & Analyze Data Reporting – Responsible for aggregating financial data internally and from external business partners in support of commercial credit reporting
- 20% Internal Pro Team & Customer Contact – Communicating with internal Pro business partners and customers regarding credit requests or related account issues

- This position typically reports to Manager

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Consumer & Commercial Credit underwriting experience preferred, but not required
- Experience in Credit Risk Management or related field
- Strong analytical skills with experience transforming data into actionable information
- Exhibited ability to work independently
- General knowledge of retail business, financial services industry, economy, and business trends
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
