JOB DUTIES: Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities.
Greenhouse General Laborer job duties include: - Planting plants into containers on the production/planting line - Unloading, loading, moving, spacing and trimming plants in the greenhouse - Pulling plants onto carts for customer orders - Propagating unrooted cuttings - Sowing seeds directly into pots/containers filled with soil - Consolidating, cleaning, sweeping, growing areas in between crops - Greenhouse property and facility maintenance - Maintaining a clean environment within and around all greenhouse areas Greenhouse Production General Laborers report to the Production Manager. In addition to the job duties listed above, Eagle Creek attests to providing the following to all workers: 1. Universal protection and benefits to all employees. 2. Participation in FLSP research and reporting which includes granting access to workers to take surveys and participating in in-person interviews. 3. All workers will be made available to attend a 2-hour paid training on their rights and resources while working in the U.S. 4. Responsible recruitment records, including recruiting U.S. based workers first, followed by recruitment by government ministries that are registered with government in the country (if they exist). Employees are given two 15 minutes breaks - one mid-morning and 1 mid-afternoon. These 2 breaks are paid. Employees are give one 30 minute lunch break at noon. This lunch is not paid. Eagle Creek provides small and large lockers for all employees. Lockers can be used to store extra clothing, shoes and other personal belongings. Eagle Creek has a limited number of battery-powered electronic vehicles. These are used to help get employees around the facilities quickly and safely. These units help our employees to do their jobs more effectively and more efficiently. We hope to invest in more with funding from the FLSP program.
EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:
BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.
TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SITE: The employer will provide transportation for all workers living in the employer-provided housing to and from the daily work site(s).
WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: Provided.
TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
