Center Associates: Part time and full time positions available at 20 - 40 hours per week. Positions are located at the Liverpool, Baldwinsville, Cicero, Fayetteville, Dewitt and Skaneateles stores. Stores are open seven days per week, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM. $15.50 - $17.00 per hour. Position Summary The Center Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries Continuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions Takes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others Set-up displays and arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales Obtain and receive merchandise requested or selected by customers Answer customers questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise Total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill Accept payments and make change; wrap or bag merchandise for customers Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift Calculate sales discount to determine price Keep records of sales, prepare inventory of stock, and order merchandise Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Previous retail or customer service experience High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as a department manual Job Description Ability to speak politely and effectively with customers Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form Ability to work with minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
