Support physicians by helping with patients, both directly and indirectly. Take vital signs, as well as help with clinical and administrative tasks.
 
Experience:
1. Proficient in medical procedures and medical terminology required.
2. One year experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of personal computer and relevant software applications preferred.
4. Knowledge of third-party payors preferred.

5. Ability to perform charting and notes.

6. Experience in EPIC is helpful

7. Experience working with third party payers for billing and coding.

 

Administrative duties include:

  • Welcoming patients
  • Answering phones
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Updating patient medical records
  • Communicating with hospitals, other physician’s offices, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers
  • Handling office mail

 

Clinical duties include:

  • Taking medical histories from patients
  • Assisting the doctor during exams
  • Collecting and preparing lab specimens
  • Explaining treatments and procedures to patients
  • Performing basic laboratory tests
  • Phlebotomy
  • Wound care
  • Preparing patients for exams
  • Educate patients on medication.


Education:
Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program or a min of 2 years clinical experience

Licensures/Certifications:
Medical Assistant Certification Preferred

This position requires you to wear a respirator as part of the job requirement.
