Summary

AMPORTS is currently hiring a IBMi Senior Developer and Team Lead with a passion for software development. You will lead a highly experienced team of developers and contribute to the success of our dynamic organization by enhancing and extending our proprietary port facility management platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and collaborate with our development team to design, develop, and maintain applications on the IBMi platform and Microsoft BI.
  • Create and maintain modular, scalable, and efficient RPG programs using RPG ILE and peripheral programs / APIs.
  • Work with SQL and Embedded SQL for data retrieval, manipulation, and database maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with management, peers, business analysts and SQA team members.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and optimization.
  • Contribute to the improvement of software development processes and best practices.
  • Build a strong understanding of the AMPORTS business processes and value proposition.
  • Work closely with the Application Architect to affect the necessary system changes and projects.

Requirements:

  • Approximately 10 years of experience as an IBMi RPG ILE Developer.
  • Proficiency in RPGILE, RPG Free, CL, and CLLE Programming.
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and Embedded SQL.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft BI.
  • Experience with modular design and a commitment to producing clean, maintainable code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Leadership abilities is a key asset.

Preferred qualifications, but not required:

  • Familiarity with development tools such as Visual Studio Code, LMi, and GIT preferred.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps work item tracking for project management preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $138,841 - $167,037/year
