JOB REQUIREMENTS: About the opportunity SWCA Environmental Consultants
is looking for an Archaeology Technician to join our Chicago, IL team.
Our team of accomplished environmental and cultural resources scientists
is growing, and we are looking for dynamic individuals who are following
their passion in delivering the highest-quality cultural resources work.
This is a temporary, hourly, on-call position, reporting to our Chicago,
IL Cultural Resources Team Lead, primarily supporting projects within
our Midwest region! We offer overtime pay at time-and-a-half; single
occupancy hotel accommodations for out-of-town mobilization and per
diem. We are looking for candidates located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa,
Michigan, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Application deadline- Our team will

qualified candidates. Once we have identified suitable individuals, we

consider each submission. What you will accomplish Conduct
archaeological fieldwork including monitoring, survey, testing, and data
recovery. Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including
collection of GPS data using Trimble units. Experience and
qualifications for success Required Qualifications A bachelor\'s degree
in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field or six (6)
months field experience with a range of field methodologies, including
survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring. Current valid driver\'s
license and the ability to safely operate a 4wd vehicle on rugged,
backcountry roads required. Ability to travel to a location, walk and
conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged
terrain, sometimes working at high altitudes, and ability to carry
equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required. Preferred
Qualifications An accredited Field School Certification Experience with
a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey,
testing, excavation, methodology and monitoring. SWCA Environmental
