We are currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Data Governance Analyst to join our team and provide expert support for the implementation and development of the CoverMyMeds data governance program.

Our ideal candidate would be based in Columbus, OH near our CoverMyMeds headquarters, but we will consider a highly-qualified, fully-remote candidate.

What You'll Do

As a Sr. Data Governance Analyst, your daily to-dos will shift with business needs, but here's a snapshot of what to expect:

Responsible for documenting, monitoring and ensuring the adherence to the data governance policies and processes, working with stakeholders to conduct periodic audits and manage remediation efforts as needed.

Develop and maintain the CMM data catalog including managing data connectors, building domain and community structures, developing workflows, and managing the ingestion of metadata and other asset documentation.

Develop and maintain a data governance playbook of standard processes, tools, and templates to support different types of data governance projects.

Lead and facilitate metadata documentation projects with cross functional teams including defining definitions and standards and managing data catalog intake.

Align with data quality and master data management initiatives to ensure project alignment, documentation, and capture of key metadata and metrics.

Engage with business and data stakeholders to identify projects, capture requirements, scope resources and build prioritization use cases for data governance projects that support business goals and objectives.

Facilitate Data Governance Council activities including agenda management, communications, and documenting and maintaining council decisions.

Manage and Publish data governance KPIs and reports to data community and appropriate stakeholders.

Manage data steward program and activities including onboarding, training, and project communication and coordination.

Work with internal training and education resources on planning and conducting training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns for data governance concepts and topics and to make sure they are aligned with overall data literacy goals and timing.

Skills You'll Need

Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or computer science or other data related field

Minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of data governance or data management

Ability to draft, revise, and oversee data governance policies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

Experience in establishing and implementing data governance frameworks, particularly at organizations in the early stages of their data governance journeys.

Comprehensive knowledge of metadata types (technical, operational, business), metadata repositories, and tools used for metadata collection, storage, and analysis.

Proficiency in developing and managing data catalogs, data dictionaries, and classification schemes.

Skills to collaborate with and educate both technical and non-technical stakeholders on the importance of metadata and data governance.

Capability to initiate, manage, and complete data governance projects, especially those related to metadata management.

Awareness of data-related regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) that impact metadata management and governance policies.

Experience in driving change, ensuring that new governance policies and metadata practices are adopted organization-wide.

Preferred Skills

Proficiency with popular data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Alation)

Understanding of data quality dimensions and their relationship with metadata management.

Familiarity with database structures, data architectures, and data modeling, which can aid in deeper metadata comprehension and management.

Understanding of analytics and its interplay with metadata, which can be beneficial for organizations aiming to leverage data for insights.

Ability to conduct training sessions and workshops to elevate organizational understanding of metadata and data governance.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at CoverMyMeds. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$92,000 - $153,400
