DIFFERENTIALS! Watertown Regional Medical Center, Sr. Behavioral Health
Unit, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the role of Mental
Health Technician (MHT). Will be responsible to assist with nursing care
of the patient, within the Sr. Behavioral Health unit. Working under the
direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and in collaboration
with the interdisciplinary team, will performs basic nursing care,
assists patients with activities of daily living, maintains a safe and
therapeutic environment and assists in the admission, provision of care,
discharge and transfer of patients. Will work collaboratively as a part
of a patient focused team to provide excellent care and services in
accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Care is
provided based on individual treatment plan with specific attention to
the age and developmental stage of the patient, cultural factors, level
of functioning, mental status, medical issues and family/living
environment affecting treatment. The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is
responsible to assist with nursing care of the patient, within the
Senior Behavioral Health unit. Working under the direction and
supervision of the Registered Nurse and in collaboration with the
interdisciplinary team, the Behavioral Health Patient Care Partner
performs basic nursing care, assists patients with activities of daily
living, maintains a safe and therapeutic environment and assists in the
admission, provision of care, discharge and transfer of patients. Will
work collaboratively as a part of a patient focused team to provide
excellent care and services in accordance with applicable scope and
standards of practice. Care is provided based on individual treatment
plan with specific attention to the age and developmental stage of the
patient, cultural factors, level of functioning, mental status, medical

Functions Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of
patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN. Assist in the
admission process, including obtaining vital signs, safety search of
patients and personal belongings, obtaining urine specimens and
orienting new patients to the service. Performs plan of care
interventions and documents direct care assignments such as assistance
with personal care and other activities of daily living, vital signs,
weights, heights, routine specimen collections. Escorts patients to
diagnostic tests and radiology. May administer medication. Documents
patient care given and interventions in accordance with hospital policy
and departmental standards of care. Assists RN with development of plan
