W/WW Reuse Treatment System Coordinator - (13225) Under general supervision, performs and/or plans, assigns, schedules, coordinates, monitors, reviews and leads the work of others in remotely operating water/wastewater/reuse distribution and collection systems and treatment facilities and monitoring and controlling system operations to ensure continuous, safe and efficient service. Job requires working knowledge of the regulations, policies, methods, standards, and procedures related to water/wastewater/reuse distribution, collection, and treatment operations, sufficient to perform routine skilled craft activities. Procedures are established and a number of specific guidelines are available, requiring judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate methods, techniques, resources and procedures to apply to specific cases. Solves routine or recurring problems and identifies and suggests solutions to more complex problems. Completed work is evaluated for technical accuracy and compliance with established procedures and practices. Job requires the ability to persuade, influence, and motivate individuals or groups in internal and external leadership positions to plan and coordinate work efforts or to resolve operating problems. May be required to work a variety of shift schedules on a rotational basis and remain on-call 24 hours a day to maintain 24-hour, 7 day per week service or a relief schedule.
Plans, assigns, schedules, coordinates, monitors, reviews and leads the work of others in monitoring and controlling system operations. Trains and instructs others on equipment operation, guidelines and policies. Operates, monitors and controls water/wastewater/reuse distribution and collection systems and treatment facilities. Determines needs, develops guidelines and materials, and coordinates system operation, equipment repair, construction and system outage activities. Monitors and controls access and security for water and wastewater/reuse facilities. Uses a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to operate plant equipment including motors, engines, centrifugal and turbine pumps, vacuum primers, air compressors, and chemical feed and test equipment. Maintains and reviews operation records and provides data for inclusion in monthly operating reports as required by state, federal and local regulatory agencies. Ensures that system equipment is operated properly, safely and efficiently and in compliance with state and federal laws. Operates other applications to schedule, deploy, and control process equipment and resources, as required. Performs other work-related work as assigned.
OPEN REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of six (6) years' experience in operating, monitoring and controlling system operations and repairs in a water/wastewater/reuse treatment facility.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
A valid driver's license is required prior to application and must be maintained during employment in this classification.
A valid Florida Class B or higher Water Plant Operator License and a valid Class C Wastewater Operator License is required prior to application and must be maintained throughout employment in this classification.
OR
Either a valid Florida Class C Water Plant Operator License and Class C or higher Wastewater Plant Operator License prior to application. Incumbent must have the ability to obtain and pass the remaining Florida Class B Water Plant Operator License Examination within one (1) year of employment to maintain employment in this classification. Must successfully obtain the remaining Florida Class B Water Plant Operator License within two (2) years of employment to maintain employment in this classification. Licenses must be maintained throughout employment in this classification.
Note: This is a Safety Sensitive position - Handles hazardous materials or equipment. Performs design, construction, maintenance, inspection & operation of systems carrying current, fluids, or gas that could endanger the public or employees. Leads safety sensitive position. Responds under emergency conditions.
