At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Electrification and Low Emission Power System Engineer to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
-Assess feasibility of future low emission energy storage and propulsion technologies.
-Configure, trade, and develop conceptual hybrid and electric powertrains.
-Build zero and 1-D steady state and dynamic time models to support concept evaluation and performance analysis.
-Conduct hardware testing and data processing of key low emission enabling technologies.
-BS in field of Engineering or physical science
-3+ years of relevant experience
-Demonstrated expertise in design, modeling, and test.
-Excellent communication skills
-Experience working with sustainable and low emission technologies such as Lithium-Ion batteries, fuel cells, electric propulsion, renewable fuels, etc.
-Lab experience, particularly working with bidirectional power supplies and general data acquisition.
-Experience in data processing using MATLAB, Python, or equivalent.
-System architecture design and performance analysis experience
-Experience using modeling software’s such as MATLAB Simulink/Simscape or Simcenter Amesim
-Experience using CAD systems (CATIA or SOLIDWORKS preferred)
-Experience with business capture and early concept development
-ability to work in an office/lab environment
