Who We Are Looking For

The Asset Management Intern will be part of the Clearway Distributed and Community Solar (DGCS) Asset Management Team. The DGCS asset management team is responsible for the commercial and financial management of distributed and community solar projects across the United States. Asset Management also serves as the owner’s representative ensuring that budget control, value optimization, and risk mitigation are performed during the entire operational lifecycle of a project. The intern will aid in developing a streamlined and efficient process for solar system production and performance reporting.

We are looking for current juniors or rising seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analysis, or a related field.

Throughout this summer internship, you’ll get exposure to real projects and challenges while gaining first-hand professional experience. At Clearway, you’ll gain access to an innovative and fast-paced work environment.

What You'll Be Doing

The Asset Management Intern’s primary responsibilities will include:

Financial & Performance Management:

  • Review performance and production guarantee obligations and lead process improvement efforts.

  • Support P&L analysis and economic performance for generating assets within the assigned portfolio.

  • Perform financial analyses, project evaluations, and due diligence to help make recommendations in support of plant optimization, recovery plans, revenue enhancement, and other major capital investments.

  • Extract data from various sources as needed to support the creation of the Distributed Solar dashboard.

  • Transforming and standardizing extensive data sets into an efficient and succinct structure.

Commercial Management & Administration:

  • Support business administration activities and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with key project company agreements and financing agreements.

  • Review project company agreements to accommodate any project modifications.

  • Prepare reports and presentations for project stakeholders as required.

What You'll Bring

Core Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience researching, analyzing, and synthesizing data and reports.

  • Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills.

  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience manipulating and managing large amounts of structured and unstructured data. Prior experience with the use of formulas in Excel (i.e., vlookup, sumproduct, sumif, index/match, conditional formatting, etc.) and creating reports from scratch.

  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy. You’re here because you believe in and want to help create a clean energy future.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. You’re willing to ask lots of questions, listen to your colleagues, and contribute your ideas.

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable. This means showing up, being present, and being eager to dive into the workday. If you ever feel like you’ve completed all your tasks and have time to spare, you’re eager to speak up and ask what else you can do.

  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of projects and assignments. You’re comfortable taking initiative, asking questions, and speaking up.

What Would Be Nice

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reading regulatory or legal documents.

  • Experience in financial analysis, business/market analysis, project valuation, project/business administration, project management, project development, asset management, compliance management, contract administration, deal execution, project finance, energy and environmental market analysis, or other analysis or commercial role.

  • Business and financial savvy with an understanding of accounting, finance, and valuation concepts.

  • Experience working in the power industry.

  • Python, SQL or other coding skills are a bonus.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is not eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across All U.S. Locations

$22—$26 USD
