Summary

Celestica Galway (Ireland) is seeking an exceptional Operations Engineering Support professional to join our dynamic Maintenance team. As an Operations Engineering Support member, you will have the exciting opportunity to become an integral part of our industrial operations, contributing to a leading-edge team in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with outstanding analytical skills and a results-driven mind-set.

This role involves working a 12-hour day shift pattern from 8 am to 8 pm, with potential adjustments based on business needs.

Your next challenge will be…

Installation, set up, maintenance and support of automated equipment ensuring optimum performance and achieving operational goals. This will include providing factory systems support in a highly automated production environment while also Implementing continuous improvement solutions to maximize equipment efficiency and robustness.

Detailed Description

Your day- to-day activities will include…

  • Repairing and troubleshooting electro/mechanical equipment failures.

  • Scheduling and performing preventative maintenance procedures.

  • Assisting in moving, installing, setting up, and refurbishing equipment.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation.

  • Recording significant downtime issues and resolutions in appropriate databases.

  • Coordinating equipment repairs with other departments as required.

  • Working proactively to meet performance targets: Yield/quality (using SPC/SQC), production output, uptime, and process stability.

  • Communicating potential capacity and quality issues to the Business Unit Team Leader and across relevant zones/work areas.

  • Attending pass-downs and providing status updates.

  • Contributing detailed inputs into the failed spare parts management process.

  • Supporting Process Engineers in ensuring ongoing Continuous Improvements.

  • Training and assisting other Technicians and Operators.

  • Building internal and external relationships to exchange information and solve problems.

Typical Experience

What do we expect from you?

  • 2 - 4 years+ experience as a Technician in a high volume automated environment.

  • Minimum Cert./Diploma/Senior Trades in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Working knowledge of PLCs, Motor drives, pneumatic and hydraulic components is an advantage.
