Position Description

Supports performing administrative tasks related to the planning, directing, and coordinating the program’s academic and operational activities. This includes coordinating all academic and non-programs, such as the Doctor of Philosophy  in Biomedical Sciences, the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Biomedical Sciences (for dental and medical tracks), and the Summer Accelerated Biomedical Research (SABR) internship.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Supports FGSBS faculty with activities such as, but not limited to, maintaining an up-to-date syllabus, managing lecture reminders, making lecture material available to students, creating and proctoring exams, tracking attendance, and managing coursework deadlines and assignments for all academic programs.
  • Coordinates administrative activities related to the Summer Accelerated Biomedical Research (SABR) internship.
  • Assist with administrative activities as part of larger projects such as, but not limited to, work orders, room reservations, audiovisual setup, and office maintenance.
  • Provides administrative support on behalf of the FGSBS, including coordinating and scheduling meetings.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with institutional safety requirements. Serves as the unit safety officer.
  • Facilitates the coordination of events such as new student orientation, commencement, and other FGSBS activities
  • Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.
  • Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school plus six years experience in related field.
  • Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing sensitive information.
  • Familiar with student services and faculty support.
  • Able to maintain strict levels of confidentiality.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines efficiently, and be attentive to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
