Job Description

***Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance***

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced ESH Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our workplace complies with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining ESH programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. The ESH Specialist will conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. They will also be responsible for training employees on ESH practices, investigating incidents, and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of ESH regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to promote a culture of safety. This is a critical role that requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement in HSE performance.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement ESH policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes.
• Provide ESH training and education to employees.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal ESH regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of ESH activities and incidents.
• Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety.
• Monitor and report on ESH performance metrics.
• Review and update ESH policies as needed.
• Advise on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Implement corrective actions to address identified hazards.
• Participate in ESH committee meetings.
• Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
• Support the development of safety programs and initiatives.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements.
• Manage hazardous materials and waste disposal processes.
• Prepare and submit ESH reports to management.
• Adhere to and support Fluor’s Environmental, Safety, & Health and Sustainability Polices.

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and two (2) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Other Job Requirements

• Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance***
• Gather industry-wide ESH-related information and data as directed by supervisor for review and possible application
• Occasionally lead the activities of lower level ESH staff

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations.
• OSHA 500 Certification
• EM 385-1-1 40 Hour Certification
• Aerial Lift (MEWP) – Train the Trainer Certification
• Fall Protection / At Heights Trainer Certification
• Competent Person Excavation & Trench
• Competent Person Scaffolding Safety
• CPR/First Aid/AED Trainer

Salary Range

68,000 to 118,000

Market Rate

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
