Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Piping Design Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will supervise the development and checking of complex piping drawings, including equipment arrangement drawings, piping plans, isometrics, and sketches. You will also oversee the piping input to Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), updates to the master P&ID, and the piping Line List. Your expertise will ensure the quality and accuracy of our piping design team’s work and provide crucial assistance with construction and pipe fabrication personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise the development and checking of complex piping drawings, including plot plans, piping plans, isometrics, and sketches.
• Oversee piping input to Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and updates to the master P&ID and piping Line List.
• Approve design changes on the P&IDs
• Develop piping design instructions and details.
• Ensure the piping design team meets quality standards and provide assistance to construction and pipe fabrication personnel.
• Review 2D CAD drawings and the 3D model using 3D Review platform.
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements and actively seek discrepancy resolution.
• Review layouts and schematics for conceptual and detailed designs developed by the design group.
• Review fabricator drawings.
• Review bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
• Monitor and support work performed by Fluor offices or other designated entities performing Distributed Execution Engineering.
• Perform, direct, and oversee audits.
• Prepare/review scopes of work for third-party contracts.
• Support proposal and estimate activities.
• Deliver quality work and adhere to the Quality System.
• Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans.
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
• Participate in people development through mentoring, development of training material, conducting training seminars, and performance appraisal input and counseling.
• Contribute to and promote the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and communities.
• Support Functional Process Lead and Department Manager on initiatives.
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
• Adhere to and support Fluor's HSE Policies.
• Develop and apply the Core Skills to the job.
• May need to travel to attend to business-related matters.
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality.
• Support field activities from home office or at project site.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-two (22) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
• Practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with large-scale projects (Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Data Centers)
• Proven track record of successful project management and team supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical knowledge.
• Excellent presentation skills (i.e. Model Reviews with Client)
• Advanced computer and software skills, including word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs.
• Advanced knowledge of:
• 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D CAD systems and procedures.
• NWS, ACC
• 3D modeling software (Hexagon Smart 3D®, AutoCAD P3D, CADWorx, Aviva etc.).
• Fluor design guides, piping technical practices, and piping design drawings would be a plus.
Salary Range
107,000 to 198,000
Market Rate
The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
